Comfort Agreement

(for Youth & Teen Text-Based Support)

This agreement helps keep this space safe, respectful, and supportive for everyone.

You don’t have to agree with everything perfectly — this just explains how this space works.

🌱 What this space is

  • This is peer support, not therapy or counseling

  • Support happens through text, at a pace that feels okay for you

  • You don’t have to share details you’re not ready to share

  • You can pause or stop at any time

🤍 How we show up here

In this space, we agree to:

  • Be respectful — toward ourselves and each other

  • Speak from our own experience (“I” statements)

  • Listen without judging, fixing, or pressuring

  • Let conversations unfold naturally

You don’t have to be positive. You don’t have to be “okay.”
You just get to be real.

🧭 What peer support means

Peer support focuses on:

  • Listening and understanding

  • Shared human experience

  • Exploring what you want or need

It does not include:

  • Medical or mental health advice

  • Diagnosing

  • Telling you what to do

You stay in control of your choices.

🔒 Privacy & safety

  • What you share is treated with care and respect

  • There are limits to confidentiality if someone is at risk of serious harm

  • If safety concerns come up, support may shift toward helping you connect with trusted adults or emergency resources

We’ll always try to be clear and respectful if that happens.

🛑 If you need urgent help

This space is not for emergencies.

If you feel unsafe or might hurt yourself, please reach out right away:

  • 988 (call or text, U.S.)

  • A trusted adult

  • Local emergency services

You deserve immediate help in those moments.

🌤️ Your choice

By choosing to continue:

  • You understand what this space is and isn’t

  • You know you can stop anytime

  • You agree to engage respectfully

That’s it.

No pressure.
No expectations.
Just support.

“You’re welcome here — exactly as you are.”
